Our Purpose: Balancing Public Health and Ecosystem Integrity in Vector Control
EVC is committed to combating malaria while safeguarding the environment.
Our work is guided by the principle that protecting human health should never come at the expense of ecological balance. We recognize that traditional disease-control strategies, while effective, often generate unintended environmental consequences. That is why our mission is twofold: to reduce the burden of malaria through innovative, evidence-based interventions, and to ensure that these efforts preserve the integrity of ecosystems.
Our purpose is to safeguard ecosystem integrity while advancing public health interventions. Through sustainable vector control tools, responsible pesticide management, and the recycling of end-of-life mosquito nets, we aim to create solutions that protect communities without compromising the natural environment. By integrating environmental stewardship into malaria prevention, EVC is pioneering a model of public health that is both effective and sustainable, one that benefits people today while protecting the planet for future generations.

Our Mission: Innovation and eco-friendly solutions to stop malaria
Innovating to Combat Malaria and Resistance
Insecticide-treated mosquito nets remain a cornerstone of malaria prevention, yet their effectiveness is increasingly threatened by rising insecticide resistance. Our innovative mosquito net, the T-Net, combines traditional protection with a mechanical trapping system. By capturing both susceptible and resistant mosquitoes, it reduces transmission while slowing the spread of resistance genes.

Tackling Resistance at its Root
Misuse of agricultural pesticides speeds up mosquito resistance in malaria vectors. Through Farmer Field Schools, we equip farmers with the knowledge and skills to apply pesticides responsibly, protecting their crops while at the same time reducing the selective pressure that accelerates resistance in malaria vectors populations.

Closing the Loop with Eco-Friendly Solutions
End-of-life mosquito nets present a growing environmental challenge. We aim to recycle these nets into mosquito-proof window screens and distribute them for malaria prevention. This approach not only protects the environment from plastic and chemical waste from end-of-life bednets, but also delivers sustainable public health benefits, creating a circular solution that serves both people and ecosystems.
